INTRODUCTION
Inside Out and Back Again is a moving book that tells the story of a young girl's year of transition. For ten years Ha had known nothing of life outside of Saigon. Unfortunately shortly into the book the Vietnam War reaches her homeland, and Ha and her family are forced to flee to America. The story continues to tell of the many different experiences she has during her adjustment in the states. This book shares information with the reader about the Vietnam War from a child's perspective. "This is the moving story of one girl's year of change, dreams, grief, and healing as she journeys from one country to another, one life to the next" (Lai). |
